Mental health and addiction care, whenever you need it

Psychological difficulties rarely choose a convenient time. A panic attack can begin late at night, a relative may start a heavy drinking binge over a holiday weekend, and an elderly parent may suddenly become confused or agitated. That is why PsyHelp24 works 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with no days off. When you call, you speak with a medical professional, not a call-center script, and you can receive a free phone consultation to understand what kind of help is needed and how urgent it is.

We combine two closely related fields under one roof: psychiatry, which deals with depression, anxiety, sleep problems, psychotic states and other mental health conditions, and addiction medicine, which covers alcohol, drug, medication and behavioral addictions. Many people face both at once — for example, drinking to cope with anxiety — and having psychiatrists and addiction specialists working together lets us treat the whole picture rather than one symptom.

Help for expats and international visitors

Moving to a new country or traveling for work can be stressful on its own, and facing a mental health problem far from home adds language barriers and uncertainty about how the local system works. Our team is used to helping people who are new to Kazakhstan. Consultations in English can be arranged on request — just mention it when you call or write to us on WhatsApp, and we will match you with a doctor who can conduct the appointment in English.

We can explain how private psychiatric care is organized in Kazakhstan, what documents (if any) you will need, and how confidentiality is protected under local law. If you are visiting and already take prescribed medication, bring the packaging or a prescription from your home doctor so that our psychiatrist can review your treatment and suggest a safe plan for the time you are here.

Anonymous treatment without registration

Many people delay seeking help because they worry about being placed on an official register or about information reaching their employer. At PsyHelp24, treatment is anonymous and does not lead to any registration. Information about your visit, diagnosis and treatment is a medical secret protected by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and we do not share it with employers, schools or other third parties.

You may come to an appointment under a first name only, and we explain in advance which situations require personal documents, such as when you request an official medical certificate. We treat privacy as a part of good medical care: when a person feels safe, they are more open with the doctor, and the treatment works better.

  • No registration with state psychiatric or addiction registers
  • Medical confidentiality protected by the law of Kazakhstan
  • Discreet home visits without marked vehicles or uniforms
  • Online consultations from any place convenient for you

Formats of care

Different situations call for different formats, and we offer several so you can choose what fits your condition and circumstances. An in-clinic appointment gives the doctor time for a detailed conversation and, if needed, additional diagnostics. A home visit is suitable when the person cannot or will not come to the clinic — for example, during a drinking binge, in an acute anxiety state or for an elderly patient with limited mobility.

Online consultations are convenient for follow-up visits, for people living in other cities and for those who prefer to start the conversation from home. When outpatient treatment is not enough or the condition is severe, we offer care in our own inpatient unit, where patients are monitored by doctors and nurses around the clock.

Psychiatry: what we treat

Our psychiatrists work with the full range of common and complex mental health conditions. These include depression and burnout, generalized anxiety and panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress, insomnia, phobias and social anxiety, as well as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other psychotic conditions. We also help with eating disorders, psychosomatic complaints and health anxiety.

Separate attention is given to children, adolescents and older adults. A child or adolescent psychiatrist can assess attention difficulties, emotional and behavioral problems, and support families of children with autism spectrum conditions. For older patients we provide assessment and treatment of memory problems and dementia, with guidance for relatives on day-to-day care.

Addiction medicine: what we treat

Our addiction specialists help with alcohol dependence at every stage — from medical support during withdrawal after a drinking binge to long-term relapse prevention. We treat dependence on opioids, stimulants, synthetic drugs, cannabis, prescription medications and other substances, and we also work with behavioral addictions such as gambling, gaming and internet addiction, as well as nicotine and vaping.

Treatment usually starts with safe detoxification and stabilization, followed by work on the causes of addiction, psychotherapy and, when appropriate, rehabilitation. We pay special attention to families: relatives of a person with addiction often need support themselves, and we can help them understand how to motivate a loved one to start treatment.

How to get help

The first step is simple: call us or write on WhatsApp. A doctor will listen, ask a few questions and help decide which format is best — a clinic appointment, a home visit, an online consultation or admission to the inpatient unit. This phone consultation is free and confidential, and it does not oblige you to anything.

If you need an English-speaking doctor, mention it at the start of the conversation. We will agree on a convenient time, explain what to bring and what to expect from the first visit. In urgent cases, the doctor can come to you the same day or night.

When to call emergency services

Our clinic provides urgent care, but some situations require state emergency services immediately. If there is a direct threat to life — a suicide attempt, severe poisoning, loss of consciousness, seizures or violent behavior that endangers others — call 112 or 103 right away. You can contact us afterwards for further psychiatric or addiction care.

For children and young people in distress, the national helpline 150 is available. Calling for help is never an overreaction: if you are unsure whether the situation is dangerous, it is always safer to call.
